Fr. Sebastian Muthuplackal is a Catholic priest of the Diocese of Kanjirapally with over 28 years of pastoral ministry and leadership.
He currently serves as the Director of Liturgy & Sacred Music for the Diocese and is a member of the Central Liturgical Commission of the Syro-Malabar Church.
He is pursuing a Ph.D. in Liturgical Theology at Paurastya Vidyāpīṭham, Kottayam, with research rooted in Eastern liturgical tradition.
Fr. Sebastian holds a postgraduate degree in Syriac Literature from Mahatma Gandhi University, with academic expertise in Eastern Christian texts.
He is a Programme Co-ordinator at the Nazrani Research Centre, promoting scholarly engagement with the Syriac Christian heritage of India.
As an Associate Professor at Marian College, Kuttikkanam, he teaches theology and contributes actively to higher education.
He serves as the Vicar of Edakkunnam Velankanni Matha Church, combining pastoral care with his liturgical and academic responsibilities.
Fr. Sebastian is widely respected for his contributions to liturgical formation, sacred music, and historical research within the Syro-Malabar Church.
