Prof. (Dr.) Sabu Thomas is a world-renowned scientist in polymer science, nanotechnology, and materials engineering, with vast contributions to global research and education.
He currently serves as Chairman of Trivandrum Engineering Science & Technology Research Park (TrEST Research Park), fostering innovation and industry-academia collaboration.
Formerly the Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala, he led transformative initiatives in research, academic excellence, and international partnerships.
He is the founding director of the School of Polymer Science and Technology, and also established and led the School of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, School of Energy Materials, and the International Inter-University Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology.
Prof. Thomas also served as Director of the School of Chemical Sciences, advancing interdisciplinary innovation.
He holds a Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, and a B.Tech in Polymer Science and Rubber Technology from the University of Cochin.
A prolific scholar, he has authored hundreds of research papers and books, and is among the top-cited scientists in his field globally.
He continues to be a visionary force in Kerala’s scientific and startup ecosystem, inspiring researchers and innovators across the world.
